Slingo Centurion Slot Review

Slingo Centurion takes the iconic Roman theme and features of Inspired’s Centurion slots and combines them with Slingo’s familiar mix of bingo-style number matching and slot reels.

Instead of focusing solely on traditional reels, Slingo Centurion gives you a 5x5 number grid to work through. Completing Slingo lines moves you along a bonus ladder, where features from the Centurion series begin to appear.

In this Slingo Centurion slot review, we’ll explain exactly how the grid works, what happens at each stage of the bonus ladder, and how it’s different from the other Centurion slots around.

How Does Slingo Centurion Slot Game Work?

The Slingo Centurion slot game kicks off with a 5x5 grid filled with 25 numbers. Five reels sit underneath, and you have 10 initial spins to match numbers from the reels with those appearing in the corresponding columns of your grid.

When you complete five marked spaces in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line, you make a Slingo. Each Slingo moves you another step up the Centurion bonus ladder. But numbers aren’t the only symbols that can appear. A standard Joker can help mark a number in its column, while the Super Joker can tick off any number on the entire grid. Slingo Centurion also includes a Devil symbol that instead blocks you from matching numbers.

The key difference between Centurion Slingo and a standard Slingo game is what happens as those lines add up. Slingo Centurion has seven different bonus stages, beginning once you reach five Slingos and continuing all the way to an 11-line full house.

If the grid-and-reel format is new to you, our How to Play Slingo Guide explains the basic rules, Jokers, and number-matching system in more detail.

Slingo Centurion Slot Features and Bonus Games

The bonus ladder is where the Slingo Centurion slot starts borrowing more heavily from the original Centurion games. Different numbers of completed Slingos unlock different features, so here's what happens as you move along it.

Reelus Maximus – 5 Slingos

Complete five Slingos, and you reach Reelus Maximus. This switches the action to a five-reel Centurion slot. The first three reels are filled with colossal symbols, meaning one oversized symbol occupies several reel positions rather than each space showing an individual symbol.

Prizes On Parade – 6 Slingos

At six Slingos, Prizes on Parade becomes available. A light moves across a selection of multiplier positions. You stop the moving light, with the position where it finishes deciding on the result. It's a completely different setup from Reelus Maximus, swapping the five-reel colossal symbol mechanic for a stop-the-light bonus.

Caesar’s Free Spins – 7 Slingos

Completing seven Slingos triggers Caesar’s Free Spins. First, a red wheel determines how many free spins you get, with up to 20 free spins. A second blue wheel then determines the multiplier during the feature.

The game then switches away from the Slingo grid to a 5x3 Centurion slot layout for those spins. There is also Caesar’s Free Spins Red farther up the ladder. This version is reached after completing nine Slingos and follows the same basic wheel-and-free-spins format.

Road To Rome – 8 Slingos

Eight Slingos unlock Road to Rome, which replaces the reels with a board-style bonus. You roll a die to move along the route towards Rome, landing on different positions as you progress across the board. Reaching 10 Slingos unlocks a second version called Road to Rome Red, which follows the same format.

Wild Power Spins – 11 Slingos

Finally, completing all 11 possible Slingos for a full house opens Wild Power Spins. The centurion reels return for three Power Spins. During them, the centurion progressively places blocks of wild symbols across reels two, three, and four.

Play Slingo Centurion Online

You can play Slingo Centurion online from our games section. The Buzz Bingo Slingo Centurion game page gives you access to the title itself, while the game information explains the relevant rules and controls before you start.

Because the Slingo Centurion online slot combines two formats, keep in mind that completing the numbered grid remains the main focus of the game. The Centurion-style reel and bonus features appear as you progress through the Slingo ladder rather than replacing the grid from the beginning.

Other Centurion Slots At Buzz Bingo

Slingo Centurion isn't the only Roman-themed title in the series. At Buzz Bingo you’ll find several Centurion slots, each taking a different approach to the familiar Centurion theme and features.

Centurion Free Spins

The Centurion Free Spins slot uses a more traditional 5-reel, 3-row format with 20 paylines. Its mechanics centre on features like wild symbols, free spins and multipliers rather than collecting Slingo lines.

So, while both titles use the Centurion setting, the Centurion Free Spins slot is much closer to a conventional reel-based slot than Slingo Centurion's bingo-and-slots crossover.

Centurion Megaways

Centurion Megaways changes the format again by bringing Megaways mechanics into the series, with up to 117,649 ways to win. It also includes free spins, mystery symbols, and wild multipliers, while three or more scatter symbols open a Centurion bonus wheel.

Several familiar Centurion bonuses were adapted specifically for the Megaways format, so the Centurion Megaways online slot shares features with the wider series but doesn’t share much in common with the Slingo Centurion's bonuses.

Centurion Big Money

Centurion Big Money uses a 5x3 layout with 10 win lines, focusing on the progressive bonus trail as its main feature. Three or more bonus symbols open the Big Money Bonus. During the feature, Centurion symbols act as cash collectors, while the Centurion and Bush characters progress along a trail above the reels.

When the Bush catches the Centurion, a three-option Pick Me stage determines whether the bonus ends or continues in one of two different ways. That makes the Centurion Big Money slot another conventional reel game rather than a Slingo variant, with its progressive trail taking the place of Slingo Centurion's 5x5 grid and Slingo ladder.
